16.6.2011 / Arvind

This is Arvind, our fixer / take-care-of-everything -guy in Gairsain, India. He was a lifesaver and a great friend. Juha drew him a picture of Saraswati on our last day there. Thanks, Arvind, hope we see you again someday!

2.6.2011 / A coffee shop at the end of the world?

Did I go back in time? Did I go forward in time? Did the world come to a sudden end? Is Fallout not just a game anymore? No, no, no and yes it's still a game. To see this for yourself, head on over to Fårö in Gotland and find a place called "Kutens Bensin". It's a little bizarre to say the very least, but at the same it is definitely extremely interesting.

The best way to describe this place would be to say that it's a coffee shop / bar / club / restaurant / hang out spot. Oh yeah, let's not forget the genuine French créperie they have there (seriously). Kutens is located pretty much in the middle of the Gotlandish outback and it's quite easy to find if you ever happen to get close (not too many places with this kinda décor in Fårö).

If I was to shoot a gory horror movie, this would be the spot. Or, if I was in the mood to enjoy some decent Lapin Kulta (?) while in Sweden, I'd come here for sure.

Disclaimer: a little Photoshop never hurt nobody.

1.6.2011 / Fuji X100

I pre-ordered this camera already in february, but as production got put on hold due to the events that took place in Japan, I got my precious as late as yesterday. Quite a long wait but it seems it was worth it. Lots of minor nuisances when it comes to fiddling with the menus etc, but the images you get from this little retro badass do really make up for all those annoying little details. I still have lot of stuff to figure out since the Fuji-logic is quite different from the Canon-logic (my strong preferences lean towards Canon). Here's some of my first shots with this camera. Featuring Tessa, Viivi, Eerik and yours truly. More to come, for sure.

17.5.2011 / Back in business

It did take a month, but I'm back. Sorry for the delay, I've been back from India for an entire week now. We did our thing and it was amazing and so very inspiring. We saw amazing stuff and met incredible people. We covered some of it in our travel blog. Also, our plans to hold an exhibition are going to work out, it seems. More on this later. As I have a huge wad of pictures to sort through, it will take some time. Have patience. While you wait, here's some out-takes and stuff that did not make the blog. I will be back and this time it won't take a month, I promise.

17.4.2011 / I am in India

Much like the title suggests, I am not around to update my regular blog. I am currently travelling around India and will be back on the 9th of May. Until then, I will be updating another blog with my friend Juha. It's dedicated to our trip and also functions as a journal. Go check it out here or just use the link in the navigation.

See you later!
